This is Me

I'm 22
Hardworking
Creative
And I need a job.
(Guess honesty is one of my traits too).
I also have Dyscalculia - which in a nutshell means I can't count. Google it, it's real!
But what I lack in numbers and the understanding of quantum physics, I make up for in kick ass ideas and drive, so I guess it's not all bad.

Jailbreak

So as part of a charity fundraiser for the Meningitus Trust, our student union held a big event called Jailbreak. By where each team (10 in total) had 48 hours to get as far away from the university as possible, without spending a penny on transport.
The outcomes were pretty amazing! With the winning team getting all the way to Tel Avive! How they managed that is beyond me!
My group managed to make it all the way from High Wycombe, Bucks - to Aberdeen! So I was more than happy with that.

Just shows how easily it can be done though, gotta love British rail services!

Return to Sender

Firstly.. BRILLIANT project! Top marks to Julie for setting us this.. got me right back into the swing of things.
We had to send out as many postcards as we liked, but the catch was they had to be returned to us, without us actually including the return address on it. We had to think of visual ways of conveying the address.
Below are some of the examples I did.. So far i've had 2 back.

Pasta Hut - and other general ramblings

Someone please explain to me what genius thought that changing the name from "Pizza Hut" to "Pasta Hut" would be a good idea?

Good grief. Now I know why advertising is such a difficult industry to get into.
You clearly have to be an idiot to get a job.

Student loans company. Where do I even begin??
Each person you speak to saying a different thing to the last one you spoke to. Insisting they are still waiting for paperwork from me, and that I won't get my loan until they receive it. Checking online today and being surprised to see my loan has actually gone into my account.
Extra paperwork MY ARSE!

Cadbury's trying to sell more chocolate by using the same awful ads, and just changing the music.
Just, no.

KFC having no chip and pin machine.
Are you mad???

I could go on all evening.
But I won't, because i'm tired and I have work in the morning.

Things I hate about my job - the rant

Things I really hate about my new job..

-the smell of coffee (ridiculous, I know - considering I work in a coffee shop!)
-when ignorant people insist on leaving things in their empty coffee cups. Just don't do it! I only have to fish it out when you're done!
-children. Just feed them at home! It's not cute when they hurl things on the floor, it's just down right irritating!
-being chained to the sink all day doing the washing up because my manager hasn't ordered a dishwasher yet.
-knowing i'll still have to do the washing up when we do get a dishwasher, as the point where it's supposed to go is too small.
-when I work all day on saturday and it's busy as hell, and I am told by a polish co-worker that "we don't have breaks on saturdays.. so no break for you". How about "FUCK OFF!" I am not a machine.
-Finally getting a break at 5.15pm.
-Getting fuck all to eat as the chef stops cooking at 5pm. Brilliant!
-Being rotared in from 11am-6.30pm.. but not being allowed to leave work until 7.30pm.
-Being told I can't mop properly, so being made to mop the whole floor a second time. If I can't mop properly, then don't ask me to do it again! It's obviously not going to look any better!
-My boss messing up my rota.
-general "short" jokes when I can't reach anything.
-getting tipped by customers, but having to put it in the communal staff tip jar.
-having no pockets on my pinny to be able to hide my tips in. (they thought that design out well!)
-working with people who I can't very well understand, let alone remember their names.

Bloody work.
If I wasn't so skint, I'd resign.

15 minutes of lame

So, admittedly the rest of the group thought it was brilliant. I just couldn't prise myself away from the cringey jokes about wanking and ejaculation, and the extreme forced laughter from the row of middle-aged+,  working class men seated behind me.

Honestly, if I never have to go and watch this ever again, it will be too soon.

Ranting 'n' Raving

mm.. so the new brief, "Rants 'R' Us".
Ranting about a topic for around 3 minutes.
Problem is, finding only one thing that I want to rant about!

This could take a while..
